Kingdom's End: Fairytail Gone Bad

Alright. Here's a sneak peak at a story I've been working on and leave some feed back on whether I should continue or stop.
The night air smelled of the burning oak trees and oil lamps as the sky was stained with the blood of the fallen. A mob of angry men and women, torches and swords in hand, surrounded a lone maiden in a blood soaked field. Every last flower covered with the family that had been massacred, and within moments their last heir would join them.
She awoke with a startled breath, staring at the safe haven of her rooms ceiling that always provided shelter.
"It was just a dream..." The worlds rolled off her parched and chapped lips.
A knock on the door rang through the quiet room like thunder in a rainstorm.
She cleared her throat and licked her lips, "Enter." She called, arising from her floral bed.
A man dressed simply entered and bowed his head, "Madame Rose, your mother has requested that you come and see her in the courtyard. With do haste, princess."
She nods and smooths her bedding gown, "Alright, Sir Christian."
He leaves her room, the door creaking as it is closed.
Rose peers around before going to her hand carved dresser and fetching her morning cloths, dressing quickly. She breaths a sigh before walking to the window and peering out at the vast, luscious green valley that her family held behind a stone wall.
With another sigh she tries to form a smile, "A week. A week it has been and still no word... Perhaps tomorrow."
She turns gracefully, walking over to her grooming table to pick up a white painted, wooden comb and begins pulling it through her long red hair for which she was named. She places the comb back on the small mirrored desk before quietly walking down the flight of stairs that led into the main room of the castle.
She picked her way to the garden courtyard, careful not to awake the sleeping men and children during her dawnly walk.
Rose wore her normal elegant smile and royal gown as she walked towards her mother, "You have summoned me, mi'lady?"
